Play the DLC. There are six DLC options for New Vegas, and players with all of them will ultimately raise their level cap and have more to do prior to the endgame. The DLC are. Dead Money. Honest Hearts. Old World Blues. Lonesome Road. Gun Runners' Arsenal. Courier's Stash.
Short Reviews of each DLC: Honest Hearts - Has one of my favorite characters in any game and the world space is quiet beautiful. The main story is alright and the DLC is really not that hard. I do certainly recommend it though. Old World Blues - Agreed upon by most as the best New Vegas DLCs and possibly one of the best DLCs of all time.
All you have to do is continuously tap A after that, doing the barter check over and over, getting tons of exp from it. Should take you maybe 20 minutes to get to level 40, I usually do it up to level 30 and play the game normally from there. Go to your Fallout NV install folder (default location is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas) and delete the files with the .nam extension that correspond to whatever DLC you want to disable. Now when you uncheck them they should stay off. Boards.

A big problem in this dlc is that ammo is once again scarce, so unless you bring in an Arsenal (which you won’t have at level 15) you’ll have to scavenge and learn different weapon types. I don’t like to do this dlc until I can go god mode and plow my way through it Level: 20+ Difficulty: 8.5/10 Fun: 4/10 DM My personal favorite.
